Matt LaPalm is an experienced Product Manager who leads the Product Management team at the Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD). With a passion for creating exceptional user experiences, Matt’s journey into public service began with a background in marketing, user experience research, e-commerce, and technology solutions.

In 2018, Matt joined ESD as part of the team responsible for launching the nation’s premier Paid Family and Medical Leave program. His commitment to stakeholder engagement led him to travel across every corner of Washington, directly connecting with stakeholders during the program’s early phases.

Currently, as a member of the Product, Planning, and Performance Division Leadership Team, Matt is spearheading the development of a cross-agency product team. This team is dedicated to fostering innovation and delivering delightful experiences for users.
